This is a small campground right off Route 395 in the Eastern Sierra Mountains in California. Volcanic rock and typical desert flora make up the scenery, as well as the mountains off in the distance, including one with snow still on the peak. It's a great little campground and very quiet.
Wildflowers were blooming while I was there.
And, of course, little lizards were all over.
There is an old lake bed nearby, which allows boondocking. The surface is so dry it feels like concrete.
The Fossil Falls are the fossils themselves - a dried up riverbed. Years of water flowing through has sculpted the rocks into carved, rounded shapes.
The water has made little areas where plants can grow.
It i fascinating to se what water and wind does over time.
